Corporate Experience: Kim Pitchford is a corporate escapee who, after eighteen years of a deliberate and determined climb up the ladder to the corner office, renounced it all and is now pursuing cooking as vocation and avocation. The efficacy of cooking as a team building tool allowed her to merge her two areas of expertise to create the Dine by Design Catering, Inc., Team Cooking Encounter.

 

 

Cooking Experience: Kim began cooking professionally at the age of 22 in Destin, Florida, catering to the charter boat company, Sailing South. After leaving the corporate world, Kim trained at The French Culinary Institute in New York, New York, then spent the summer of 2003 in a professional apprenticeship in Paris. At the end of th apprenticeship she remained in Paris, working on a novel and catering privately. Upon her return to the US in 2004, she settled in northwest Florida and became a partner in a small personal chef company. In April of 2006, she stepped out on her own once again, opening Dine by Design Catering, Inc.

 

 

Total Quality Managment Experience: In her last two years of corporate life, Kim added the company-wide implementation of Total Quality Management philosophies and practices to her responsibilities as VP of Technical Services.

 

 

Teaching Experience: Kim has incorporated teaching in every part of her professional life. Her diplomas from The International House for TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language), in French (from the Sorbonne in Paris, France) and Italian (from the Universita per Stranieri in Perugia, Italy) certified her in three languages which she taught privately and through International House schools in Paris and Rome.

Her early software biz responsibilities primarily involved client training in applications software and database management, both one-on-one and in a more formal classroom setting.

Following her gradutation from FCI, Kim joined the staff and worked as an Assistant Chef Instructor until the beginning of her apprenticeship.

Morst recently, Kim taught cooking for three semesters at The Center for Lifelong Learning in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
